Dusky Hunting Retriever Club

The Dusky Hunting Retriever Club was formed by a group of retriever enthusiasts in Oregon who are devoted to training, testing and raising hunting dog breeds. The Hunting Retriever Club, Inc. was “conceived by Hunters for Hunters”. We promote the use of a trained retriever for hunting in the interest of waterfowl and game bird conservation. The HRC is a family oriented organization and participation by all who are interested is strongly encouraged, regardless of experience.

In the spirit of the HRC, one of our goals is to develop regular training groups, with the focus of offering outdoor fun and fellowship wile working our dogs. In April of 2009 we held our Preliminary Hunt Test. For those who have never run an HRC hunt test, you are in for a treat. These events are a fun place to test your dog and your training in realistic hunting scenarios. Regardless of pass or fail in each series, you get to complete the entire test. Those who are interested in running hunt tests, but have no experience in testing or even hunting, will find great benefit in club activities. Our training group sessions will be an opportunity to become exposed to and practiced with various equipment, training and hunting concepts.

For all members, we now are set up to accept annual membership dues through PayPal and our membership form is online as well.

It is also a requirement to join the national Hunting Retriever Club. Your national membership includes the bi-monthly “Hunting Retriever” magazine. Links for these can be found on the “HRC” page.
